Hmm, it's been a long time since i updated my blog. And all along i only posted my completed kits here cos didn't take pics when doing those kits. Now i am thinking of posting my W.I.P for my kits here to share with other plamo modellers on how i do each of my plamo. So bros who visits my blogs, 请多多指教!!
So for now, will be posting the W.I.P for my unicorn. For this MG kit, i decided to mod the legs and hand armour to facillitate more poses. After consulting a few mods from the web, i decided to edit abit here and there from those mods seen on the web. Cos some of the mods, i dun really like how the leg look after the mod.
But first up, is the panel which will be exposed during Destroy mode. I followed the method as illustrated in the Feb issue of Dengeki mag. I like the idea of how the silver on the internal make the panel line on those red panel look after painting. And by painting the external with clear red, it actually make the panel more transparent and glass like. Very impressed with the result. Here is how it looks as compare to non painted:
And one close up:
Next up, the leg mod which i am quite hesitant to do. But after looking through most of the poseability of the completed unicorn on the net. I decided to mod the legs so that i will be able to do more poses.
After studying how the leg joint moves, I cut and trim away the parts as shown so that the joints can bend to the max:
After removing the obtructing parts, test build to see how far it can bend:
Test built again without armour to see how it can pose:
Test build again to see how the white goes with the painted red panel:
1/144 HG Hrairoo - This Hrairoo kit is a nice kit,it's big though for a 1/144. Though i am not familiar with this MS, but I think its from the Advance of Z series. The poseability of this kit is quite limited due to the armour and armaments on this kits but in my opinion. It look nice just standing straight. Black and white part are airbrushed but the yellow on this kit are handpainted due to the small area of those parts which are quite hard to mask. Metal beads are also added to this kit to make it have the overall metal feel to the kit.
Just completed these 2 SDs yesterday. Was actually thinkng of doing some airbrushing yesterday, but it kept raining non stop.
Therefore, decided to do something for a change. Handbrushing my SD
Got these 2 SDs out from my stash of MIB kits, which i got from salmonjim from plamo rewired long time ago. Also got a SD stargazer from him but not done yet.
Actually i dun collect SDs de, but got these 3 just for fun cos i think they look quite cute.
Both are handbrush and here r some pictures to share:
Strike Freedom Completed except the weapons. this kit took me quite a long time to complete as i tried to add extra detail to this kit. The extra details are: Drilling holes on the shoulders, added gold plaplates strips to the shoulders, cutting the front skirts to let it move individually.
I have both the 1/144 and the MG 1/100 Full Burst Mode(which is currently W.I.P), usually i find the proportion of 1/144 is better than the 1/100. But for the Strike Freedom, the 1/100 have better proportion as compared to the 1/144. The 1/144 looks fat...
Bought this 1/144 Yzak's Gouf Ignited as i like the look of this gouf. Was initially intending to change the colour scheme to black one, but in the end change my mind and stick to the original paint scheme.
Again, this kit is done using the (no-paint-only topcoat-method). The only painted parts are the swords which i painted yellow and the thruster to chrome silver. Overall, very satisfied with the result.
I got the compressor from Kelantan Lane at a shop call Aik Chin Hin Machinery Co @ only S$120, after much scouting around hobbyshops. It works exactly like those branded hobby compressor which cost close to $200 plus, and its quiet. So far, it has not let me down. They also have a similar one that comes with airtank selling at only $180. It's very cheap in my opinion.
The dual action airbrush was bought in taipei when i went there for holiday. The cost of the air brush is around S$60, which i thought was cheap for a dual action airbrush. But the main reason i bought this airbrush was the option to choose between top feeding and bottom feeding. this is very useful to me when doing plamo.
